- 280gsm

- 150cm wide

This organic cotton canvas is naturally dyed and is the perfect weight for an over shirt, trousers or a jacket. The texture is a soft yet pronounced canvas which is both strong and flexible. This fabric is sourced from a GOTS certified supplier in Ahmedabad, arguably the textiles capital of India.

Info on Natural Dyes

This olive coloured fabric is dyed using the ingredients of iron vat and harda. After dyeing the fabric is treated with alum to fix the colours and then myrobalan as a mordant. The use of natural pigments results in a slightly uneven, tonal finish which is something that we love. We source from suppliers who achieve a very high quality of finish but please be aware there may be slight differences of colour within your length of fabric. Over time you may notice the colour lighten slightly due to the lack of chemicals in the dyeing process. Prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight will also have an affect on the colour, as with all delicate, natural materials.

Washing Instructions

For washing we recommend a cool, short machine cycle with very gentle detergent (don't wash with whites or very light colours). We always recommend pre-washing before making your garment.

You will receive both an A4 & A0 digital pattern along with step by step sewing instructions. You can either print your pattern at home on an A4 printer or send the A0 digital copy to a printing shop (there are many that do this for a very reasonable price). If you decide to print in A4 you will need to piece the tiles together to make one huge page. There is a guide on how to do this included in the instructions.
