On this 2 day course you will make your own Over Shirt and also have lifetime access to the online workshop versions as well.
This course is aimed at intermediate sewers. Students should be very familiar with a sewing machine and have made at least one garment with detailed sewing techniques. Our online Frida Shirt workshop would be perfect preparation before attending this course.
What you will learn:
This workshop will elevate your sewing skills and improve your confidence through teaching a wide range of classic shirt making techniques. You will learn how to sew with precision, using run & fell seams, sewing complicated plackets & cuff openings, classic collar construction and plenty of detailed top stitching.
The course will cover the following:
Run & Fell seams
Classic collar and collar stand construction
Cuff with a placket opening
Sandwiching a double back yoke
Sewing on buttons
We will provide all your tools along with your fusing. You'll just need to bring the following:
- Fabric & buttons (see patterns for requirements)
- Matching threads
- You will receive pre-printed patterns in the post which you'll need to cut to your correct size before the course starts
The course will run from 10am - 5pm on both days with 30 minutes for lunch. You'll receive a printed timetable along with your patterns roughly 3 weeks before the start of the course.
We will provide tea, coffee and snacks but you will need to bring your own lunch.
